After day 2 of the Austrian Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz walks as the quicker Ferrari over the sessions. Sainz outperformed his teammate Charles Leclerc in both the sprint race and the qualifiers for the main race. This is a great result for Sainz, as he is still on the hunt for a team. Although there are currently three teams interested in him, he needs to make sure he picks the right one to be able to win races. So, where will he go?

As of now, Sainz has not yet announced which team he will be driving for in 2025. He has a huge decision to make, and it can get quite stressful. Recently, Carlos Sainz has a lot on his plate as he was abruptly given the news that he will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton. With a new team to find while driving under the pressure of maintaining P2 on the constructors, it is only fair that Sainz is not focusing on smiling around the paddocks. Although Ferrari is in a comfortable position at P2 right now, McLaren is catching up on them.

Following the Austrian qualifiers, Carlos Sainz was interviewed by Sky Sports, where he was asked about why he seems so stressed lately. Carlos Sainz addressed the issue, saying, “A few people in the paddock have told me I look very serious recently. I have a resting b**ch face, where I look like I am in a mood.” Sainz had better results than his teammate in both the race and qualifiers, making Saturday a good day for the Spaniard.

Giving a sigh of relief to his fans, Sainz explained, “But the reality is that I’m happy. Today’s performance and the Sprint show that I’m in a good state of mind.”

Although there was no Ferrari on the podium in the sprint, Sainz’s P4 was good enough considering how much quicker the MCL38 is. Sainz is not extremely worried about which team he will go to in 2025, and fans can expect an announcement soon. With Williams, Sauber, and Alpine in line for the Spaniard, now the question arises: which team will he be moving to next year?

Right now, all the teams that are chasing Sainz are at the bottom of the grid. Sauber, which is going to become Audi in 2026, is one of the teams that Sainz has ties to through his father. But this season, the team has not managed to score a single point despite having an experienced driver like Valtteri Bottas with them. The team has already signed Nico Hulkenberg, who is performing exceptionally well this season at Haas.

Williams is the next team that Sainz can move to, as although they are P9, the team is making progress as the rounds pass. They have recently signed Alex Albon to continue with them and now are looking for another driver to fill the seat. Although Williams has one of the strongest legacies in Formula 1, his current performance is less than stellar.

Last to enter the race for Carlos Sainz is Alpine, the team where he has raced before during its Renault days. This becomes a good option for Sainz, as he knows most of the team and has been comfortable working with them. Although Alpine now has new management, the team is looking stronger than all its other options.
