Former McLaren duo of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris had one of the most beautiful friendships in the F1 paddock. The duo was loved by fans all across the community. Although Carlos Sainz has made the switch to Ferrari since then, their friendship is still going strong.

In a recent set of events, the duo picked out ice lollies that were in the colors of their respective teams. The entire ordeal started with Norris having a deal with journalist Will Buxton, who was handing out these ice lollies.

Commenting on Sainz picking the orange one, Buxton said, “Lando chose a Ferrari red one and you’ve chosen a McLaren orange one.” He went on to speak about their bromance and said, “…so Carlando still going strong.”
When Lando Norris was taking his pick, he joked about picking the red one: “Ferrari are fast, so I’m going to need these.”

The duo have continued to be friends even after switching teams and can be often spotted having a laugh and a chat from time to time.

The duo enjoyed two stellar years at McLaren with their friendship blossoming at the British team. However, come 2021, Carlos Sainz moved to Ferrari, which spelled the end of Carlando for most. Yet the two continue to enjoy a healthy friendship, although their on-track rivalry has intensified.

Speaking on this exact matter, Lando Norris said, “We still speak to each other every now and then.” He went on to add, “I guess maybe not as often or as closely as we were [in the] past couple of years. But no, we’re still mates, we still got along.”
Lando also spoke on their newfound rivalry driving for different teams, “As much as the rivalry’s probably increased…we still just have a lot of respect for each other and who we are as drivers and so on. So I don’t think that takes anything away from who we are, no matter what team we’re in.”

Sadly for the fans, Carlos and Lando are not seeing a lot of each other on the track, with the Ferrari at the front of the grid and McLaren fighting in the midfield.
