Brad Pitt’s ambitious venture worth $140,000,000 into the world of F1 with his upcoming movie, potentially titled “Apex,” has faced scathing criticism from none other than Max Verstappen, the reigning Champion. The Hollywood superstar’s project has generated significant excitement and buzz among fans and drivers alike. However, Verstappen’s strong reaction reflects his disinterest and skepticism towards the movie, stemming from his previous experience with Netflix’s series, “Drive to Survive.” The scars left by the series’ portrayal of the sport have triggered a dismissive response from Verstappen, casting doubt on the reception of Pitt’s grand venture.

Verstappen’s disillusionment with “DTS” has been well-documented. He boycotted the show for its first four seasons despite appearing in 5th season, he accused it of fabricating rivalries and misrepresenting drivers’ personalities to increase the drama. Pitt’s F1 film may also be made on a similar approach that follows the story of aged, retired racer Sonny Hayes (played by Brad Pitt), who returns to the grid as part of the fictional APXGP team to mentor young driver Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris). The film’s plot is set to incorporate key elements of the F1 world, with Silverstone playing a significant role and on-track scenes resembling race-like maneuvers. Verstappen’s aversion to exaggerated narratives within the sport reiterates his commitment to authenticity and a no-showmanship approach to F1.

Verstappen’s recent dismissive comments about Pitt’s F1 movie, which was being filmed at Silverstone, reflects his lack of enthusiasm. As per Motorsport.com he stressed, “I completely can’t be bothered with this. In the end, a film is always made to create a little bit of a show in it. Because yes, of course, it won’t all be real. But I think it’s all fine. I’m actually not that much into it.” Verstappen’s disinterest suggests that he views the movie as another attempt to fabricate drama and create an exaggerated spectacle, reminiscent of his grievances with “Drive to Survive.”

Verstappen’s strong reaction to Brad Pitt’s movie underscores the movie as an endeavor aimed at generating showmanship rather than accurately portraying the sport he holds dear. Amidst Brad Pitt’s involvement in the F1 movie, a different battle is brewing for the Hollywood star. Accusations have emerged regarding his alleged “looting” of Chteau Miraval, the Provence vineyard he co-owned with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.

Brad Pitt’s legal battle over Chateau Miraval

Amidst the ongoing legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their former vineyard, Chteau Miraval, a new twist has emerged. Pitt now faces accusations of “looting” the Provence vineyard by lawyers representing Jolie. The legal filing submitted by Nouvel, claims that Pitt and his partners owe more than $350 million. They allege that Pitt engaged in excessive spending on renovations, including a swimming pool and a recording studio, while allegedly depriving the rosé producer of its assets.

The allegations against Pitt paint a picture of a “petulant child” determined to retain control over Chteau Miraval while disregarding the vineyard’s financial obligations. Nouvel’s lawyers argue that Pitt has frozen out Russian-born billionaire Yuri Shefler’s Stoli Group, which purchased Jolie’s share of the winery, and has refused to appoint neutral directors. The claims of financial mismanagement and looting further exacerbate the contentious nature of their divorce, which dates back to 2016.
