In the heart-stopping world of Formula 1, sometimes it’s the challenges off the track that ignite the fiercest flames within a driver. Just ask Lewis Hamilton, or better yet, his team principal, Toto Wolff. Picture it: Interlagos, Brazil, 2021. Hamilton, in his classic style, snatches the fastest qualifying time. But joy turns to disbelief as his car is disqualified over a faulty rear wing. The result? Max Verstappen on pole, and Hamilton facing a Herculean task, starting from the back of the pack.

Yet, by the end of the race, Hamilton had not just managed to navigate the chaos but emerged victoriously from the 10th spot. Talk about a plot twist!

Wolff, with an almost gleeful tone, remarked (as per Racer.com), “They have woken up the lion on the Saturday in Interlagos. He is absolutely on it. Brutal. And cold-blooded. And what a lion’s roar it was! Lewis followed his Brazil GP triumph with another stellar performance, clinching both pole and victory in Qatar, slashing Verstappen’s championship lead down to a mere eight points.

Wolff believes adversity isn’t just a challenge for Hamilton; it’s a power-up. I think when adversity happens it takes him to a place where he is able to mobilize superhero powers,” he quipped. Remember Austin and Mexico? Not Hamilton’s best days, with Verstappen seizing both wins. Yet Mercedes never faltered in their belief. Wolff recalls, “Anyone in the team refuses to give up.” Their resilience shines through, with Hamilton clawing back in the championship race, proving once again that in F1, it ain’t over till it’s over.

Closing with a bit of nostalgia, Wolff reflected, “If you had told me at the start of the year that we’d be right in the fight in Saudi and Abu Dhabi I would have taken it.”

Whether you’re Team Hamilton or Team Verstappen, there’s no denying: this was a championship fight for the ages, and whoever emerged as the champ, truly deserved it! While Lewis Hamilton has been flaunting his Mercedes speed, making waves in every race this season, it seems the F1 battlefield has just been stoked with a fresh rivalry.

Lewis Hamilton in the crosshairs: Frederic Vasseur and Ferrari set sights on Mercedes

Yes, you guessed it right! Mercedes might be behind Red Bull this season, but Ferrari’s Frederic Vasseur is making sure Lewis doesn’t get to enjoy his rearview mirror too much.

The title for this year’s F1 was pretty much decided as Red Bull darted out of the blocks faster than you could say, “Grand Prix”. But as every racer will tell you, it’s not just about the leader, but the fierce competition nipping at their heels. And that’s where the real action is this season.

Mercedes and Ferrari! It’s almost like watching two gladiators fighting for that second spot on the podium. Just a mere 20 points split the two with only six rounds to go. Talk about edge-of-the-seat excitement!

Now, Frederic Vasseur, that suave Ferrari principal, doesn’t believe in the phrase “wait for next season”. He’s on a mission, and that mission has Hamilton in its crosshairs. “Why postpone a fight when we can have it today with Mercedes?” quipped Vasseur (as per The Mirror UK). He’s all in for this season and feels this battle readiness will prime his team for 2024.
