The incredible rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen definitely took center stage. Many will say it was one of the most fierce in the sport’s history. We won’t even have to go too far in the past to talk about one of Hamilton’s most fierce rival, Nico Rosberg. Rosberg got the last laugh against Hamilton by winning the 2016 championship. Although before winning his maiden championship, Rosberg had to taste bitter defeat in back-to-back seasons.
In 2015, Rosberg wanted to do one better than the previous season’s runner-up finish behind teammate Hamilton. However, in the end, Hamilton won his third world championship, and Rosberg finished runner-up again.
The 2015 US GP was especially painful for Rosberg. Hamilton clinched his world championship in the race. After the race when Hamilton tossed Rosberg his 2nd finish cap in the cool-down room, Rosberg’s instant reaction of tossing the cap back became an internet sensation.

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg’s capgate rekindled by Formula 1
Ahead of the US GP, the official Formula 1 Instagram account posted a throwback video from 2015. The video showcased how Hamilton pushed Rosberg off track into turn 1 and later won the race, making him a three-time world champion. The video, however, at the end finishes with the exact video of the capgate incident.

I hope one day we get a really good doc on their rivalry as teammates from 2013-16. Drive to Survive would’ve been absolutely box office if it existed for that
