“Bro He Isn’t Dead”: Amid Red Bull’s Potential Shuffle, Yuki Tsunoda’s Attempt to Match Pierre Gasly’s Repute Backfires Leaving Fans Berserk

After watching Fernando Alonso defending against Lewis Hamilton, it seems as if Tsunoda is now watching Lewis Hamilton criticizing and exaggerating small things and issues. As Red Bull buckled up for a potential shuffle at the sister team, Yuki Tsunoda made an all-out effort to signify his role at the team and fill the shoes left behind by Pierre Gasly. Red Bull has given Nyck de Vries the ultimatum to improve his performance in the upcoming races. It is believed that if the Dutchman does not, then he will be replaced. Yuki Tsunoda has beaten de Vries at all the venues so far. While many may consider that de Vries is underperforming, in reality, it is Tsunoda who is outperforming the sluggish AlphaTauri. With the Red Bull seat looking available post-2024 when Checo’s contract ends, Yuki Tsunoda tried making a point to match Pierre Gasly’s reputation. 

Yuki Tsunoda explained how there’s a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, as he’s the team leader now. This being his third season with AlphaTauri and Nyck de Vries being a rookie, it’s upon him to lead the team. Pierre Gasly was the team leader before he left for Alpine. Tsunoda tried matching his reputation and suggested that the team doesn’t need to worry about his performance. 

According to Formu1a.uno, Yuki Tsunoda said, “I think I have to be, especially since it’s my third year and because we’ve lost Pierre [Gasly], [the team] want someone to trust. And I have to be someone who can give a new impetus, especially now that we are having some performance difficulties. And I want to feel like this. I don’t want the team to worry about my performance, which I don’t think happened when Pierre was there, especially in 2021. I feel I have more leadership. I’m starting to feel more like a leader.”

However, Tsunoda’s attempt at matching Pierre Gasly’s reputation and solidifying his position as the No.1 driver on the team backfired as fans took notice of his use of the words.
