With the kind of lengthy F1 career that Alfa Romeo driver Kimi Raikkonen has, he is bound to have several records to his name. As it turns out, he is set to break another record at the British Grand Prix; the Finn will become the first driver to start a race at the same circuit 20 times in their F1 career.
Raikkonen made his F1 debut in 2001 and currently holds the record for most F1 starts by a driver with 338 starts.

It’s so easy to get it wrong and then you lose: Raikkonen on sprint qualifying
As reported by Formula1.com, Kimi Raikkonen will start the British GP from P13. The Alfa Romeo driver started the sprint qualifying from P17 and made up four positions from the start.
Raikkonen also shared his opinion if starting on the softer rubber in sprint qualifying gave him an advantage.
“I mean, obviously it’s always a bit better but I doubt there’s a lot between the two tires at the start; it’s more if you get it right or wrong. It’s so easy to get it wrong and then you lose,” said Raikkonen.

“We got some damage on the floor,” said Kimi. “I think it was at the beginning of the race. We tried to fight; we are a bit too slow on the straight–we made some improvements from yesterday and we’ll see what happens tomorrow,” said the Alfa Romeo driver.

I wanted to try the soft also for the race: Kimi
The teams will have free tire choice for the race on Sunday which will make the strategy calls important. But Raikkonen stated that he wants to start the race on the softer tires so that he can get a good launch and gain a couple of places at the start of the race.

“I wanted to try the soft also for tomorrow and they seemed to be pretty OK. I doubt they’ll be better or worse than the other tires. We need to see what we’ll do tomorrow, but we obviously got more fuel. We’ll try to do something,” concluded the Finn.
