Logan Sargeant has risen through the ranks at tremendous speed. His rise to the pinnacle of motorsport in such a short period of time has been one of the most exciting stories in recent times. The American, who is a product of the Williams driving academy will replace Nicholas Latifi next year.

It definitely wouldn’t have been easy for Logan Sargeant, but he earned himself the required points to earn a super license. Subsequently, Sargeant will be the first American driver on the F1 grid since Alexander Rossi in 2015.

The US has thirsted for a champion driver of their own. The last American race winner and championship winner was Mario Andretti in the 1970s. Since then, no American has been able to cross the checkered flag ahead of anyone else.

Even though Logan might not be expecting to break that record in his very first season at Williams, there’s certainly a good chance if he can perform consistently and bag a move to the top constructors.

Sargeant said, “It’s crazy to even think about it to be honest. To be a US driver is obviously difficult. You know, having to move your whole life to Europe. I’ve been in Europe since I was 12 years old, on my own since I was 16, 17. It’s just been a long hard road and worth it and I hope I can make them all proud.”

The American further added, “You know at the end of the day, as I said, this is just the start. I know there’s a lot of hard work still to be done to make sure I keep my place in F1.”

Logan Sargeant prepares to start a new chapter in F1

The confidence on young man Logan Sargeant’s face is one of the things that are appealing about him. Logan will become the first full-time American driver in F1 since Scott Speed in 2006-07. Moreover, the youngster looks ready and determined to begin a new chapter of his life as he prepares to take on the big guns of F1.

Sargeant said, “I put in the hard work over the past however many years, made the commitment to move to Europe when I was young to make this dream a reality.”

He also stated, “I feel like I’ve had a very good junior formula career. And (I’m) just looking to closing that chapter and move on to what’s next.”
