Nelson Piquet is back again. But this time, it would appear that he has crossed a line that has finally tipped the ship for the 3x F1 World Champion. Recently, he came out with a video that went viral, and as things stand, Brazilian law enforcement is now out for Nelson Piquet’s head.

The video that went viral showed the Brazilian saying some rather controversial things about the newly elected Brazilian president. In a nutshell, he outspokenly wished him dead. As soon as the video went viral, F1 fans took to social media to show their dismay.

However, it wasn’t only limited to F1 fans. Reports suggest that Brazilian prosecutors now want to take action against the 70-year old. According to them, the former F1 champion will be investigated for the instigation of the public and the incitement of violence.

They said, “Nelson Piquet is a person of public notoriety and, because of that, he should know his statements have the potential of reaching hundreds of thousands of people.”

This isn’t the first time that Piquet has found himself in a legal mess because of the comments made by him. Back when he had made racist comments about 7x Champion Lewis Hamilton, he was to be dragged to court even then.

Nelson Piquet is arguably one of the most notorious and polarizing figures in all of motorsports. That being said, he had also been on the wrong side of the law multiple times due to his comments and explicit opinions.

There was a time when the 3x Champion was summoned to court for making racist comments about Lewis Hamilton. What’s more? If he is found to be guilty, then he would be liable to pay a fine of up to 1.5 million pounds.

Hamilton himself had very strong feelings about the Brazilian’s words. He said, “It’s more than language. These archaic mindsets need to change and have no place in our sport. I’ve been surrounded by these attitudes and targeted my whole life. There has been plenty of time to learn. Time has come for action.”
