Whether you’re a fan or not, a Formula 1 race weekend is a highly attractive event for everyone. The race weekend often hosts various celebrities from across the globe as well. This is a common occurrence in the world of F1. Many athletes from across various sports also pay a visit to the track to witness the pinnacle of motorsport. Soccer megastar Cristiano Ronaldo is no exception and has given in to witness the enticing affair. However, at the upcoming Saudi Arabian GP, the Portuguese might not have an option but to visit his friend Lewis Hamilton.

Ronaldo joined the Al Nassr in January after another major coup by the Saudi Arabian government’s investment in sports. Ronaldo move was forced from Manchester United after his tell-all interview with Piers Morgan. The interview landed Ronaldo in hot water and earned him a contract termination. This is when Al Nassr came calling with a massive $206 million/year contract.

However, the contract came with clauses that have already seen Ronaldo reluctantly attend a few sporting events. The first was the fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury. The boxing match took place just outside Riyadh and, according to sources, Ronaldo’s attendance was mandatory.

According to the Sun, the same is expected out of Ronaldo for the race in Jeddah. Fan or not, the Al Nassr man is expected to make an appearance according to a source for the race. This seemingly mandatory appearance is part of one of the clauses in Ronaldo’s mega contract.

Regardless, if Ronaldo does make an appearance, the serial winner can meet his F1 counterpart, Lewis Hamilton. However, Hamilton wouldn’t have liked to be a part of the upcoming race weekend, according to his comments from the past.

Lewis Hamilton made his feelings known about racing in Jeddah

The third edition of the race in Jeddah is seeing some changes on track after plenty of concerns from the drivers. However, some concerns regarding the fixture are off the track as well. The terrorist attack near the circuit in 2022 is the latest example. This is exactly why the Mercedes man communicated his inhibitions about racing in Saudi Arabia.

As quoted by Autosport, Hamilton said, “Do I feel comfortable here? I wouldn’t say I do, but it’s not my choice to be here. The sport has taken the choice to be here and whether it’s right or wrong, I think whilst we are here, again, I feel it is important to raise awareness.”

There are a lot of human rights concerns around the country as well. However, the drivers cannot speak about them openly anymore.
