“Bottled It So Hard”: Papaya Army Gets Into Trolling Banter on Oscar Piastri After His Fumble Against Lando Norris in a Fun F1 Game

A kid trolled Lance Stroll at Aston Martin’s AMR23 car launch event by suggesting that his favorite driver is Fernando Alonso. F1 drivers are no less than celebrities and are always being monitored. One small slip and it becomes a meme within minutes. Oscar Piastri’s recent fumble against Lando Norris as they played a fun F1 game attracted the attention of the Papaya Army as they got to trolling the Australian. What was this game and how did the fans troll him?

Oscar Piastri earlier suggested that he is learning a lot from Lando Norris. The Briton seems to be embracing the mentoring role as he praised Piastri for pushing him. However, the Bromance that Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris shared was not replicated when Daniel Ricciardo joined. However, as Norris and Piastri were recently seen playing a fun F1 game, hints of Bromance could be seen brewing between the two. 

McLaren’s official Twitter account recently posted a video where Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri can be seen playing. Tic Tac Toe version of F1. There were teams on either axis of the Tic Tac Toe box and the driver had to guess the driver who had driven for the two teams corresponding to a specific box. There was a lot of drama in the video as Oscar Piastri made a game-losing mistake toward the end. The caption for the video was “Drama. 🤯😂, @OscarPiastri 🆚 @LandoNorris, Tic-tac-toe, @F1 edition, got heated! 😅”

The game was flowing smoothly and looked like it was going to be a draw. However, to stop Lando Norris from winning, Piastri had to guess a driver who has driven for Ferrari and Red Bull. Unfortunately, the Australian bottled it and guessed the answer from a different box. He then realized his mistake and tried putting the blame on the thing that was displaying the game. Nevertheless, Norris made the right choice and gave the right answer to win the game, leaving Piastri disappointed.

Fans took to Twitter to trill Oscar Piastri for losing the game to Lando Norris when he could’ve easily stopped it only if he paid attention. Many fans made fun of the Australian, suggesting how he fumbled and was really close to stopping Norris. Others quoted his excuse, and they trolled the rookie for selecting the wrong spot. Someone posted a picture of Mark Webber looking disappointed, referring to how Piastri answered Alex Albon for Red Bull and Williams as Mark Webber, his fellow Australian, had also driven for both teams.
