Max Verstappen didn’t have the best start this season, retiring from the Bahrain race because of an issue with the car. Later, the Dutchman redeemed his unfortunate Bahrain loss with a victory in the Saudi Arabian GP. Further, the Red Bull driver wanted to race more against the Ferrari driver, but couldn’t because of the Pirelli tyres.

The Dutchman likes the 2022 challenger, which is more aerodynamic because of the new regulations. But he points out the tyres which still limit his performance on the grid. Verstappen also states that he could have raced more against Leclerc but couldn’t because of the tyres.

Verstappen said, “As soon as you follow for a few laps, they just open up. And I think it’s also a little bit of a thing… probably tyres, but also the weight of the car pushes you over the tyre edge.”

“This is something we need to look at for the future because we improved the following with the cars, and I think probably the racing but if the tyres don’t let you, due to whatever reason, if it’s the weight of the actual car, that’s a bit of a shame because in the first stint I think we could have actually raced a bit more if the tyre didn’t die.”

Max Verstappen requests for a break after the 2023 Las Vegas GP

Formula One officially announced that the Las Vegas GP would join the calendar next season. However, the Red Bull driver, Verstappen, requests a break soon after the announcement of the new US race in 2023.

The reigning champion wants to race in the iconic city but doesn’t want to be part of a continuous race weekend. So, the Dutchman asked for a two-week break before or after the race for the drivers to relax. He even said that few drivers might not even wake up for the race day because of the fatigue from continuous racing.

Although the Las Vegas GP is still far and there is enough time to think about it. So, Max Verstappen is currently busy with the Australian GP this week. Let’s see if the Dutch driver could bag another victory this season or Charles Leclerc will take the win.
