Jess McFadyen speaks about mischievous Fernando Alonso
In a recent podcast episode of The Last Lap, the hosts talked to F1 personality, Jess McFadyen.
The subject turned to McFadyen’s experience with F1 drivers, and how much she admired Sebastian Vettel’s “mischievous” nature. This segued to Fernando Alonso, and McFadyen’s face lit up as she spoke about him.
“Alonso is also like the biggest, like, sh*thouser in F1, bar none.”
“Like, the stuff that he has orchestrated, the stuff that he’s been at the center of. I don’t think there’s ever been, when he’s been active, I don’t think there’s ever been a scandal in F1 that he’s not been involved in?”
The enthusiastic discussion ended with McFadyen’s words, “Like, even if not directly, he just finds the drama.”

Fernando Alonso’s future in Aston Martin
One of the hosts in The Last Lap said while speaking of Sebastian Vettel’s current era:
“It’s like Alonso when he chooses to leave a team. You just get chaotic Alonso.”
And it is not far from the truth, as the Spanish driver is set to leave Alpine and join Aston Martin in 2023.
As Alonso comes onboard, the Aston Martin team principal told BBC, “You need to learn to manage champions, which we already did with Sebastian. Because these drivers are very demanding, they are quite difficult to manage. I would not even say Sebastian is that difficult to manage if you are transparent, honest and straight. And I think the same goes for Fernando.”

However, Mike Krack is optimistic about his chances with Alonso. In his own words, “Normally, drivers with this experience, they do not have this desire to win. Normally, this desire goes down, especially if they have won already.”
“Fernando has this unique combination of speed, hunger, motivation and experience. For us, it makes the perfect candidate.”
