Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz, in the late 2010s McLaren days, were infamous for the Bromance they shared. Arguably one of the greatest bromance stories on the F1 grid. However, since Sainz left, Norris didn’t fare well with Daniel Ricciardo. Now Lando Norris has dropped some hints about a blossoming bromance amid his budding rivalry with Lewis Hamilton. What is the Bromance all about?

Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton share the same nationality. While the rivalry is a big part of F1, one would expect the two to be good friends like Schumacher and Vettel. However, what we observed in Austria was completely different. Norris with the upgrades, McLaren was on Lewis Hamilton’s gearbox from the start. Hamilton, who took a lot of his front wing off, was struggling to keep the car within the track limits and Norris made sure to point it out every time the 38-year-old went off the track.

As the laps went on, the fight kept getting serious. Eventually, Hamilton was penalized with a five-second penalty, which infuriated the 7X champion. One would expect things to get sour between the Britons, right? No, quite the opposite. Lando Norris revealed his blossoming relationship with Hamilton. According to @TheMcLarenZone’s tweet, Lando Norris said: “I think even over the last couple of months we’ve been chatting a bit more and getting to know each other a bit more…”

A couple of years back, during the 2021 Austrian GP, Hamilton, and Norris were fighting for P2. When the 7X champion eventually overtook Norris after some brilliant defense from the McLaren driver, Hamilton said “Such a great driver Lando.” However, the 38-year-old wasn’t really pleased with the 2023 Austrian GP. Let’s see what he had to say.

The weekend in Austria just kept on getting worse for Lewis Hamilton. After a race filled with struggles, Lewis Hamilton finished P7. However, after the race, the stewards applied penalties to 8 drivers for track limits including Hamilton who got a 10-sec penalty dropping him to P8. The Briton suggests that he didn’t expect the team to perform this badly and suggested that the W14 has the same feeling as last year’s car.

According to Skysports.com, Lewis Hamilton said, “Didn’t expect to be as bad as we were today. I don’t really have an answer for it really. It was definitely surprising. The feeling of the car was very much the same feeling I’ve had all last year.”
