Lando Norris’s journey at McLaren seems to be going off the rails. So, one might imagine that with his long commitment to the team, his personal preferences would be heard by Zak Brown and Co. Sadly, no, as one of the requests made by the driver has been shunned by the team’s CEO, which has left Brown exposed to fan taunts and attacks.

Once Lando Norris aspired to win the championship, but he is now struggling to get even in the points. Now, winning a single race too would feel like a championship for him and the squad. So, amidst all of this, probably to boost some morale within the team, Norris was heard saying that he has asked Zak Brown to change the color of their challenger back to their iconic silver Vodafone livery from the 2000s. And unsurprisingly, the reaction was mixed, as many fans backed the orange-themed livery while others backed the silver, which would remind them of the glory days of their beloved team.

The fans were also ruthless in reminding the team of their failure to build a strong car that would actually deserve to be painted silver. On the other hand, Zak Brown was called out for another dip in performances, as many fans believe the team’s focus is dwindling amid their branching out into other racing competitions.

McLaren this season has had altogether different problems. On one hand, they have the MCL60 problems, and on the other, they have just too many sponsors! And this certainly didn’t help in making a case for Zak.

If the team can manage to bag a one-time sponsorship from a red-colored brand, maybe the silver livery will return in all its glory. Otherwise, it seems like it’s about time for the fans to let it go.
