Even though Mercedes have practically sealed both titles and rendered the season meaningless in terms of accolades, there is still a lot to play for. For Red Bull driver Alex Albon, these next few weeks definitely will be like a make or break period for him.
It seems that the team has given him some more time to prove his mettle and show he is the man for the job in 2021. For that to happen, Albon has to have three good races in the rest of the 2020 season.
With Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg being touted as serious options, the race for the second Red Bull seat is most certainly on. But all that Albon is concentrating on, is building momentum he generated over the Turkish GP race weekend.

My Plan A is staying at Red Bull Racing, says Alex Albon
Albon is quoted as saying, “It was a good weekend on my side, it was a step forward in terms of pace and we did a few things on my car which felt better.
“At the end of the day, there’s still three races to show what I’ve got. I want to have a good few races ahead of me.”
The Red Bull No.23 impressed at Istanbul Park by matching his teammate Max Verstappen in terms of timing and pace. Having secured P4 in qualifying, he let the chance to attain a podium in the race slip and eventually finished in P7.

“The focus is these three races, there’s not really any other thought to it,” he said. “Most people have a plan B, but my plan is plan A, that’s staying in the team. I’m focused on that, that’s my goal. As I said focusing on these races.” concluded the Thai driver.
Speculation is mounting over occupancy of the second seat for 2021
Alex Albon’s fate to retain the seat for 2021 lies purely in his own hands. He has to produce strong performances in order to make that happen, starting with the Bahrain Grand Prix on November 29.
