Staying true to his form, Max Verstappen challenged the Silver Arrows once again at the Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying session. Lewis Hamilton was also consistent as he drove to his 10th pole position of the season. Max Verstappen could only manage a P3 start behind Valtteri Bottas.
During the post-qualifying post-conference at Bahrain, the trio was answering some questions. Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas were asked what could they possibly do to stop Lewis Hamilton from winning so often.
Max Verstappen acknowledged that Hamilton is definitely one of the strongest drivers ever in Formula 1. However, he added, “but at the moment I don’t have the same, like, equal chances, let’s say it like that.”

“That doesn’t take away anything from Lewis but yeah, I’m just pushing as hard as I can with the material I have and sometimes it’s closer, sometimes it’s a bit further away. Some races it looks pretty competitive. Today was less competitive,” he shared.

Valtteri Bottas agrees with Max Verstappen
Valtteri Bottas also pointed out that Hamilton does everything he can to win. Bottas further stated that he has tried his best to beat him and he will keep trying because there is a way.

He said, “I’m here to win as well. I know that starting from second on the grid, there’s all the opportunities but you need a perfect race.”
The drivers’ championship is decided already. However, Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen are still fighting for the P2 finish and it seems like the battle could go on well into the end of the season.
Valtteri Bottas finished outside points last weekend at Turkey as he spun six times under tough conditions. Verstappen missed out on a podium finish, however, did close in the gap with Bottas at P2.

The pair is currently separated by just 27 points with three races to go. At the same time, the mid-table of both driver and constructor standings are in an intense battle. The first race going into the triple-header is only going to make things more interesting.
