F1 will bring in new regulations for the 2022 season. The sport will see an enormous change as we expect the new 2022 cars to be better for racing; they will also have bigger tires, as 18-inch tires will be introduced in place of the 13-inch tires currently in use. But unlike every season, the first race will not be at the Australian Grand Prix; just like the 2021 season, the Bahrain Grand Prix will host the opening race of the season.
The sport will have a Middle East doubleheader to kick off the 2022 season. The first race will be on 18-20 March 2022 at the Sakhir International Circuit while the second race will be at the Jeddah Circuit in Saudi Arabia.

“The 2022 season follows an unprecedented two years for Formula 1 in which the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a revised calendar of 17 races in 2020 and 22 races in 2021–a huge achievement given the international nature of the sport,” said F1.
“We are excited to announce the 2022 calendar as we prepare to enter a new era for the sport with brand new regulations and cars for next year that are designed to create closer racing,” said F1 CEO after announcing the 2022 calendar.
