Fernando Alonso‘s last gamble has beautifully paid off and how. The man lines up in the first row alongside Sergio Perez for the main race in Miami. While this may seem like a boring repeat of Jeddah, we’ll give you some perspective. The last time Alonso started in the front row was back in 2007 at Indianapolis, back when he was the most dominant figure in F1. But can that kind of dominance come without a great machine? Fernando, now driving an Aston Martin, certainly thinks so. And this has not gone down well with the fans who have thrown several accusations Nando’s way.
The man claiming he had never had a car as fast as his current one had dethroned Maranello to put an end to Ferrari’s dominance in 2005 and certainly he couldn’t have done it without a fast machine. Especially in a sport where the machine makes a decisive difference. But the man who has seen three stints with Renault now rebranded as Alpine has very conveniently forgotten where he won his championships.

Alonso, who is never known to bite his tongue, has been rather vocal about his displeasure with his previous teams. However, that has increased many folds as the man arrived at Aston Martin, which fit him like a glove. During the free practice for the Miami GP, he was openly dissing Alpine, saying FPs are their only chance at glory and after the qualifying, the Spaniard has done it again.
Fans lash out at Fernando Alonso, who for his championship days
During the post-qualifying interview, Nando just had the best things to say about his teams. His car came alive and has now put him on the front row. But while everyone liked his Aston Martin resurrection, fans have decided to remind him of his past.

As I see it, he’s being disrespectful for all the teams of which he was part, like alpine (ex Renault).

That might be true in terms of km/h but relative to competitors, the 2005 Renault is probably the fastest he has ever had.

Fernando has always been an impatient man as he has jumped several ships to complete 19,000-plus laps over the course of 22 years. And some of them have helped man create historic feats especially the likes of Renault. And probably this is the reason why fans are upset as they remember the master class he put forward in his blue and yellow race suits.
