Lewis Hamilton’s other crown is in danger, and its hunter is none other than Max Verstappen himself. After taking away the Briton’s previous crown as champion, the Dutch driver is coming for a clutch of the sassiest and most fashionable drivers on the grid. How does he plan to do it? Not sure what’s the bigger plan, but he is starting by simply putting on a mullet during a buildup for the Australian GP. 

The Red Bull driver donned a mullet wig, bringing out an entirely new person from inside. Fans were left in splits as Max slayed the look with the confidence and charm that he carries. This also landed him a crazy name: “Maxine Verstappen”. Many even drew comparisons to him looking like his longtime girlfriend Kelly Piquet. All the sayings about love, making you and your partner look-alike seem to be coming true in the couple’s case as well. 

Max Verstappen is sassy enough on the grid and often off the grid as well. But he is mostly known for his exceptional professionalism and seriousness as well. This stunt of putting on a mullet does make us say one thing to him: Pulling. It. Off. So, needless to say, we love it whenever Max ditches his serious persona, and this time was no exception.

Max Verstappen and fans go crazy with the look

Max Verstappen wasn’t alone in the buildup to the Australian GP. The crowd favorite, yet absent driver, Daniel Ricciardo, and his partner in crime, Sergio Perez joined him. So, it seems like the Dutchman followed the basic principle “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” and applied it to Australia. With the mullet, he now appears to be a favorite among the fans.

The fans also used Max Verstappen’s look as an excuse to take a little dig at his nature.

Going into the Australian GP, Max is undoubtedly the favorite to win. But before that, he has already won the hearts of the fans in the country down under.
