As we head for the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend, many teams aren’t happy with the development of flexi-wings. One such team is the McLaren, and their Team Principal, Andreas Seidl has stated that he will take action against teams who do so.

There is a lot of debate around whether this upgrade should go forward or not as it breaks the rules set by the governing body., due to affecting the aerodynamics of the car. We can only wait and find out the outcome of this issue.

As quoted by Motorsport.com, the team boss said, “From our point of view, if we see deflections again like we have seen in Barcelona. There needs to be action here this weekend. How this action will look like in the paddock, I don’t know yet.”

The governing body did step in to address the issue, however, Seidl wasn’t pleased about it. He said, “We’re happy with all the actions FIA has put in place with the technical directive, even with the update of the technical directive.”

Seidl added, “The only thing we are still not happy with, and that’s the point of the discussion, is why do you let teams that benefited already for several races, with a car that has not been in the regulations, to keep using these devices.”

How does the Woking-based outfit feel about heading into Baku?

In the recent Monaco Grand Prix, the papaya team managed to secure a podium courtesy of Lando Norris who crossed the line 3rd place. Hence, he feels a bit optimistic about heading into the race weekend.

The team from Woking currently holds third place on the Constructors’ standings with 80 points to their name. Now as they prepare themselves for the sixth round of the championship, which takes place in Azerbaijan. The team hopes to increase their points tally for this season.

With Norris showing great potential and Daniel Ricciardo still get the hang of the new car. McLaren hope they put on a stellar performance in the streets of Baku.
