This weekend Formula 1 will host the latest edition of the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. The weekend will mark one year since F1 came back after the pandemic. In 2020, Austria hosted the opening race of the season with no crowds and with full Covid-19 protocols.
In the last 12 months, F1 has successfully conducted 26 races in 52 weeks. This is an astonishing achievement for an international sport of this scale.
Just like last year, Austria is hosting back-to-back race weekends. Last weekend, The Red Bull Ring hosted the Styrian Grand Prix with no fans. But to the delight of everyone involved, the authorities have announced that the fans can be present at the circuit at the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend.
