Every time we feel the drama in the Formula 1 world has died down, something new emerges. The team boss’ have been in a type of merry-go-round play in the past 24 hours and the oblivious Audi is now happy with an “Impressive” addition to the upcoming F1 Team.

There were many surprise announcements yesterday and Andreas Seidl was a part of one. The team principal, who has been with McLaren since 2019, has decided to leave the team and join Alfa Romeo as their CEO.

However, this domain effect started when Mattia Binotto departed from Ferrari and Sauber’s Frederic Vasseur was appointed at the Scuderia. Seidl made the choice to transfer to Sauber when the Alfa Romeo boss resigned from his position to stand in for Ferrari. And as you might know, Seidl’s new team, Sauber, will soon join hands with German giant Audi in 2026.

According to the CTO of Audi AG, Oliver Hoffmann, Andreas Siedl’s hiring has pleased the team. “We welcome the choice of our future partner. Andreas Seidl has a extensive experience in leadership roles within motorsport, both at constructor and Formula 1 team level. His motorsport track record is impressive,” said Hoffmann.

Even though one of the leading automotive brands won’t enter Formula 1 until 2026, the German-based corporation has still given fans the opportunity to compete in their cars.

In collaboration with the EA, Audi brings their F1 livery to F1 22 video game

In August, Audi declared that they would join the motorsport as an engine manufacturer. In the same event, they also showcased an F1 car with a special Audi livery. Now, F1 22 by EA Sports and Codemasters has some new in-game improvements.

It is Audi’s show car that is seen entering the arena as part of the podium pass series 4 VIP tier in the game. After Audi confirmed their participation in the Formula, they signed a contract to collaborate with the Sauber starting in 2026.

Head of brand Audi Henrik Wenders is confident that the show car will have a large following online. He said, “It’s not a given to be a part of the official simulation of Formula 1 three years before our first race.”

“Our show car has caused quite a stir from the very first moment with its striking design and the color scheme that is typical of Audi in motorsport. Everywhere it has been in action, the reactions have been extremely positive. I’m convinced that our show car will also win many fans in the virtual world,” he added.
