Charles Leclerc is a man of many talents. While his skills behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car are impeccable, his entertaining personality equally shines through in his gaming live streams. However, his talents with a soccer ball are questionable. In fact, they recently became the reason for his embarrassment in front of tennis ace Novak Djokovic.

Charles may not be as good at soccer as he is in motorsports, but it is a sport that he loves. In fact, it has become an annual thing now where he participates in a charity match. Last year, he took part in a match to raise funds for an organization called “Fight Aids Monaco”. This time around, the cause was different.

The fundraiser soccer match has now had 24 iterations. Last year, Max Verstappen was a part of the game as well. This year, the Dutchman wasn’t present, but we still had quite the star cast. This year, the proceeds from the Monaco World Stars Charity Football Match went to an organization that works for children in need.

F1 drivers and crew formed a team simply called F1. The rest of the world side, also called the Star Team, had none other than Nole in it. The F1 team had Leclerc, his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz, Alpine driver Pierre Gasly, and F1 boss Stefano Domenicali. They played the match in the stadium of the professional soccer club AS Monaco.

Charles, the captain of his team, embarrassed himself not once, but twice in the first 90 seconds of the match. First, he went into a tackle which he missed and face-planted himself on the ground. The second occasion arrived when missed a shot on an open goal.

It wasn’t all fun and games, though. The Monaco GP is right around the corner and Sainz walked off the pitch in the second half owing to an injury. Scenes from the dugout showed him with a bandage wrapped around his right thigh. However, Charles’ shenanigans were enough to steal the show for the fans.

Leclerc posts his embarrassing moment on Instagram

Charles Leclerc has a sense of humor about the entire incident, though. He posted a story on Instagram with a screen grab of his face-plant moment. He wrote, “I’ve got a natural talent at football that very few have.” ESPN posted the picture on Instagram as well and the comments section had the most hilarious jokes about the Monegasque’s situation. Most of them made a connection to his two crashes during the Miami GP.
