“I prefer F1—I could not be that bad at racing. Well, we’ll see after my career if I have time to do something,” said Daniil Medvedev after he was spotted wearing a jacket that reminded everyone of a checkered flag in Formula 1. While this made us crave a crossover, we didn’t think it would happen on an entirely different turf, as F1 drivers joined him for a charity football match. And the former world number one had a hilarious tweet to share after that.

World Stars Football Match is an annual charity event organized in Monaco. The two teams, namely Star Team for Children and All-Star Drivers consisted of big shots from the field of tennis and Formula 1. While the likes of Novak Djokovic made their presence felt, the event also had in attendance F1 celebrities like the likes of Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, and Pierre Gasly, to name a few.

Many fans vicariously felt the fun as pictures and tweets at the event started surfacing on social media. From Charles Leclerc’s face-planting to an injured Carlos Sainz. While these are the risks one shouldn’t take such risks before a GP, what caught our attention was an entirely different incident. It was Medvedev tweeting, Always ready for some @F1 driving tips @Charles_Leclerc @atptour” and that also days after he expressed his wish to drive in F1, perhaps with the likes of Lewis Hamilton. And fans couldn’t stop gushing with this crossover.

While last week he said he will think of F1 later, the wish seems fast-tracked in manifestation. Take a look at some Twitter comments hailing the crossover:
