Charles Leclerc would certainly have mixed feelings about this past season. The Monegasque would’ve been disappointed to fade away early from the title challenge despite having a competitive car. However, he’d also be happy to narrowly beat Sergio Perez and finish P2 in the driver’s championship. But the Ferrari star did finish P1 and won THIS other championship.

After a stunning start to the season, Charles Leclerc found himself leading the WDC. He won 2 of the opening 3 races while standing on the podium for one. He seemed to be cruising through to the championship. However, Max Verstappen and Red Bull fought valiantly to trim the gap and eventually win the championship comfortably.

But the Ferrari driver did win another championship this year. It might not be the WDC but he beat Daniel Ricciardo to win the F1’s Grill the Grid championship. The Monegasque was surprised while receiving the award and claimed “Daniel was good”. 

He said“Yeah, I revised quite a lot so I’m very, very happy about the test and very happy about it.”

Leclerc revealed that he put in hours of hard work for the challenge. Furthermore, he also told that he was good at school, which gave him the confidence to perform well.

Charles will now hope to defend his Grill the Grid title and win the WDC against Max Verstappen and co. next season.

Charles Leclerc has a huge fan following hence it was no surprise that F1 fans on Twitter went into a meltdown after him winning the Grill the Grid award. They were happy that he won at least “one championship” this yearFans also found it hilarious that he won after revising for the title.

Moreover, fans also appreciated Leclerc’s commitment to studying and winning the title.

Meanwhile, some fans were happy to add another trophy to Charles Leclerc’s trophy cabinet while others trolled the Monegasque on Twitter.

After Binotto’s departure from the Maranello team, it will be interesting to see how Leclerc and Ferrari deal with the news. Leclerc will hope to challenge Max Verstappen next season for the title. Can the Monegasque end Ferrari’s championship drought by winning the first title for them since Kimi Raikkonen in 2007?
