Recall how many questions were raised when Fernando Alonso announced his move to Aston Martin last year. Alpine was a team on the rise whereas the Aston Martin was struggling with the backmarkers. What could’ve been another disastrous move for Fernando Alonso turned into a fairy tale. Yet, there’s no stopping Max Verstappen this season. Now, Fernando Alonso makes an audacious promise to Lawrence Stroll despite the unstoppable Max Verstappen. What did Alonso promise?

Max Verstappen and Co. have been in a different league altogether this season. While Aston Martin looked like the closest competitor at the start of the season and was expected to out-develop Red Bull because of the extra aerodynamic testing time, the genius of Adrian Newey still reigns at the top. Regardless, Verstappen’s dominance wouldn’t stop Fernando Alonso from doing every possible thing to make his ‘El Plan’ become a reality.
