Sebastian Vettel is a rarity in the modern world, a celebrity with no social media presence. The only driver on the grid who does not have any social media channel. Even the Iceman, his former teammate, has an Instagram account to his name.
The F1 community has been long pushing for a Sebastian Vettel social media channel. Recently, a fan reached out to Aston Martin on Twitter and asked them to convince their driver to get on a social media handle.
The team clarified that they have no intention of forcing Vettel and that they love to be the primary handle for Sebastian-related content.

The question that begs, is whether the German will ever join a social media handle. Despite being one of the most loved drivers on the grid, he has never turned to any online platform.
Why has Sebastian Vettel avoided the world of social media?
For individuals of any status, social media becomes a tool of business and self-promotion. Pierre Gasly recently revealed that he was pressured to join social media. Sebastian Vettel, however, explains why he never gave in to that pressure.

“I never tried it and I think it’s a good thing because a lot of people tell me they can’t get away from it. I have never tried it so I’m not missing it.
“I’ve seen how it works with other people roughly and as far as I can tell, it’s done in a way that obviously you’re addicted. So yeah. Not for me,” explained Vettel.

If I were to take an objective stand, everyone has the freedom to do whatever they want. In the end, it’s a personal decision to join or not join social media. Maybe, for a driver who is world-famous, absence from social media allows him to get that little privacy and alone time.
But the fans clearly want to see more of Vettel. Do you think the German will give into the new world order and end up on social media, eventually?
