It’s been a wild few weeks in the world of Formula 1. The Italian GP was one for the history books after titanic battles ensuing up and down the field. Now, in Singapore, we’re only into Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday is shaping up to be another classic. But while, for the fans, these two races have been a source of back-to-back joy, certain drivers have had nightmarish runs. Oscar Piastri was on the receiving end of grief in Monza, and at the Marina Bay Circuit, it was Lance Stroll‘s turn.
Lewis Hamilton was the culprit behind Piastri’s horrid race as the 7x champion crashed into the Aussie on the approach to the second chicane. While Piastri suffered a disastrous end to his and wracked up a $150,000 bill for an obliterated front wing, after the accident, Lando Norris‘ teammate was quick to forgive the 38-year-old. He was quoted by Mirror UK as saying, “Yeah. I mean, he apologized immediately and he got a penalty for it. So I’m happy he owned up to it, at least.” That’s some mega maturity if you ask us. But wait, there’s more.

After Lance Stroll’s crash during the dying embers of Q1, silence fell over the race track. It was a massive impact, and the replays would send shivers down your spine. Luckily though, Stroll was okay. With his evening ruined, and his teammate, Fernando Alonso out-qualifying him once again, the Canadian would’ve been down in the dumps. Lucky for him, he still has a friend in Piastri.

Stroll’s accident also dealt a bad hand to Piastri who couldn’t improve on his Q1 time and was hence knocked out. But dealing with his own misery, the young charger was quick to spare a thought for the recently mangled Aston Martin AMR23’s driver. He said, “I’m glad Lance is okay as that was a very big crash.”
It’s good to see Lance Stroll emerge out of this one unscathed. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for Lewis Hamilton.
After bizarre Monza mistake, Lewis Hamilton gets destroyed by Russell
Monza would’ve been a low point for the Brit. Even though he still secured a solid P6 in the race, despite the 5-second penalty, Hamilton made an uncharacteristic error. And it would appear that at the Singapore Grand Prix, his dip in form hasn’t really recovered.

As the chequered flag fell on Q3, his teammate, George Russell stormed his way onto the front row of the grid, while he languished in 5th. But to make things worse, the gap between their fastest times was a mega 4-tenths of a second. There’s no other way of putting this but Russell mauled Hamilton into the ground today.
