After all the not-so-silliness of F1’s silly season in 2023, probably the biggest news of the recent past has been bombarded on us by Sebastian Vettel. It’s nothing concrete yet but the 4x champion has given, probably the most convincing hint yet of his plans to return to the sport in the not-so-distant future. But with that news now out in the open, fans have been going crazy, theorizing and chalking out the perfect comeback for the German king.

In a recent interview with F1 legend, Martin Brundle, the 4x champion sat down with the Sky Sports F1 presenter for a heart-to-heart conversation. But when the British presenter prodded the 36-year-old about a possibly sensational return to the pinnacle of motor racing, Vettel gave an answer that was as good as him confirming his intention to don that iconic crash helmet once again. He said, “I can’t say no because you don’t know!”

All in all, the German racing ace muttered just eight short words. However, that was more than enough for fans on social media to go into a frenzy and conjure up some wild theories. Truth be told, what they came up with would be a joy to behold if true, not so much for Lance Stroll, though!

As soon as this clip from Vettel’s exchange with Brundle went viral, fans had only one thing on their minds. They wanted Sebastian Vettel to make a sensational return to a now pacey Aston Martin and team up with the Spanish renegade, Fernando Alonso. The problem however, is, that 2nd seat is currently occupied by Lance Stroll.

That’s no problem, as one fan tweeted, “[Lance] Stroll out, Vettel in. Easy.”

While the majority of the fans were eager to see Vettel and Alonso team up for a mega stint, the others were just happy to dream of Vettel’s return after he emotionally hung up his racing helmet at the end of the 2022 season.
