As the season has progressed it seems as if only one side of the Aston Martin garage has the massive jump to the front of the grid taken. The side of Lance Stroll and his AMR23 has not showcased any signs of improvements perhaps apart from a few races at the start of the season. The Canadian driver has been unable to take advantage of the improved Aston Martin challenger like his teammate has. In fact, things boiled over after the Qatar GP qualifying. However, despite the concerning scenario in the Aston Martin garage, possibly worth $50,000 in damages, the Canadian is forced to address the frustrating scenario.

After suffering his fourth Q1 exit back-to-back, Stroll was seen shoving his physical trainer Henry Howe. Right before that, Stroll was also seen throwing his steering wheel out of the car. This concerning behavior earned the Canadian plenty of criticism but he has finally had his say about the situation as reported by Autosport and seen on Twitter.

“We’re in a rut and it’s not getting better,” Stroll said. “Frustration is, I think, in the whole group right now. “I mean, we want to do better, we want to get better, but it’s just a struggle right now.”

The Canadian also revealed there is no bad blood between him and Howe despite the shove. The continued frustrations are the deep-rooted cause behind these antics and not personal vendetta.

Regardless, his performances are still not up to par with his performance. In fact, Stroll is nowhere near the level he should and could be with the AMR23. This is exactly why F1 veteran Peter Windsor had some harsh words for the Canadian.

There is one thread that hangs over Stroll’s head all the time which is his entry into the sport because of his father’s support. His continued survival is also put down to his father’s standing in the sport. Adding insult to injury, this is exactly what Peter Windsor pointed out after his Qatar GP qualifying performance.

He said, “Lance Stroll, again, had an appalling weekend. He didn’t even get out of Q1. What is going on with this guy? His father has bought this team to enable him to win the World Championship, to win Grands Prix. That’s what it’s all about. ‘Get him out of the Williams. It was hopeless.’ Look where he is. I mean, it’s just going from bad to worse with Lance. In a very good car, Lance Stroll again failed to get out of Q1 in the other Aston Martin.”
