What goes around comes back around. However, if you’re as unlucky as Sergio Perez, you get the short end of this stick twice. This is exactly what happened during the 2023 Las Vegas GP, as well. The Mexican lost out on P2 in the race after driving incredibly throughout starting from P11. However, despite his best efforts, the Red Bull man suffered the same fate at the hands of Charles Leclerc that he did against Fernando Alonso in Brazil.

The Mexican was running in third for most of the Brazilian GP and was on course for a much-needed podium finish. However, Alonso fought till the very last in his rapid AMR23 and snatched the last podium place away from right under the Mexican’s feet. In fact, the whole battle was so entertaining, it nearly took out the race leader.

The exact same scenario came to the fold during the Las Vegas GP, as well. However, it was the Ferrari man Charles Leclerc on this occasion stealing the candy from the Red Bull man.

Starting on pole, Leclerc led half of the Las Vegas GP. However, once the safety car ruined his chances for a win, the Monegasque was fighting for the consolation prize. This is exactly where Leclerc channeled Alonso of the Brazilian GP and passed Perez on the last lap sending the fans into a frenzy.

The fans bombarded this tweet with replies highlighting and mocking the miserable outcome for the Red Bull man.

Some fans called out Perez as he was caught napping while Leclerc passed him on two occasions during the last stint. While some believed it was a Leclerc masterclass against the Mexican.
