Daniel Ricciardo’s popularity has been on the rise for a long time, especially since the fans started adoring him after seeing him on Netflix’s Drive to Survive. And one component, or rather a reason for this is his iconic “shoey” celebration, which has spread far beyond the world of Formula 1. We have seen the celebration being used in several other sports, which serves as a testimony to its greatness and history.

But this time, even though the honey badger might not be on the grid as the main driver, the celebration made its way to the nearby garage of Ferrari, where its driver from Monaco, Charles Leclerc, was captured holding shoes in his hands. The picture, posted by the team on its socials, was captioned “Shoey anyone? 😉,” and had fans rolling as it reminded of them as the ultimate crossover of the two drivers, which has sadly never occurred on the podium on Sundays.

Shoey is only getting recognition now since Daniel Ricciardo started using it whenever he was on the podium. We’d love to see it on the podium again after nearly two years since we last saw it in the race of the season 2021 at the weekend in Monza. But would the Tifosi like it if Charles Leclerc did it? Or will Max Verstappen step up and do it for his teammate?

Fans react to Daniel Ricciardo’s reference at Ferrari

Daniel Ricciardo has been a sweetheart with zero haters. Everyone wants to see the Aussie back on track, and even though he is in reserves, the energy that he has brought in is splendid. Thus, even the shoey’s presence at Ferrari is driving fans absolutely crazy! Many of them even requested Charles Leclerc to pull off a shoey when he wins his first race of the upcoming season.

Some fans expressed their thought that the celebration was “disgusting,” but alas, the voices were suppressed and the will of the larger sect prevailed in the comments.

The photoshopped images of Daniel Ricciardo in a glorious red Ferrari suit were almost too cool to hold on to. The influence remains unmatched despite many of the fans’ claims about the lack of wins and on-track success for the Australian in his over a decade-long career.
