Carlos Sainz has been sailing well with the SF-23. It will also be safe to say that the Spaniard has regularly felt more comfortable than Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari car based on his recent performances. Although neither of the Ferrari drivers did particularly well in the race at Silverstone, finishing in the bottom two positions, the Spanish driver only managed to pick up one point at the British circuit. However, the Spanish driver, who had previously found the emotional desire to overcome the tumultuous past, has thrown in the towel amid the fierce competition between the top four teams at the Hungaroring track.
The Formula 1 world can be ruthless at times, and when competition at the top levels of motorsport was just starting to heat up, the biggest admirer, as well as the supporter of Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, sadly passed away. Antonio Sainz Rebollo, Carlos Sainz’s cherished grandfather, passed away on July 12. Fans frequently see the 28-year-old with his grandfather on social media. However, following his tragic passing, Sainz has vowed to earn a podium finish at the Budapest track in order to give tribute to his late granddad. Sainz expressed this following the unfortunate passing and said, “I’d like to be able to dedicate a podium finish in Hungary to him and so I’ll be racing with even more motivation to do well.”

Nevertheless, the Spanish driver is fully aware of the fact that the grid has gotten closer as a result of the latest modifications making their way. While first consistently settled for the podium, it quickly became apparent that Mercedes had replaced them after making modifications, and later, with the Silver Arrows, Ferrari competed for the top three. The F1 circuit, however, became much closer as soon as McLaren introduced their change to front wings and flooring. It’s been challenging to predict the season’s runner-up as each race passes by.
When this exact question was posed to Carlos Sainz by DAZN.com seemed to have thrown in the towel as he initially said, “I think there is now such a close fight between Aston, Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren that anyone could come out on top.“ Being well aware of how a tenth of a second can be a crucial factor in deciding the position he added, “A tenth or two can make the difference, which makes the races really fun and the weekend very tense and intense.”
Ferrari has put its drivers in tough situations, however, motorists still have faith in the team. As following the details of Charles Leclerc’s contract talks, it’s now Carlos Sainz who has offered some updates on his contract renewal.
What did Carlos Sainz say about his contract updates?
Since a few weeks ago, there have been talks that Leclerc will join Red Bull. However, after those rumors subsided, Alex Albon put on some outstanding performances in numerous races, sparking the rumors that Frederic Vasseur and the company will be considering hiring him to replace Sainz.
However, after Vasseur turned the speculation down, it was Carlos Sainz who opened up on the matter. Both Sainz and Leclerc’s current contracts with the Prancing Horse will expire in 2024. However, the team’s main concern right now is how to make their suffering from tire deterioration as easy as possible, not if any driver’s contract should be renewed.

And in response to Sainz’s name being linked to Audi for the 2026 driver lineup, Sainz concurred with Vasseur’s analysis and remarked to the reporters of the Hungarian Grand Prix as per Mirror he said, “I personally agree with Fred. In Ferrari, there are much bigger priorities than sorting out the future of its driver.”
Later he added, “I am not going to lie, during the three-week break in August I will start thinking a bit about what I would be happy with, and then the winter break – which is what I said in an interview a while ago – will be the time to start figuring out where I will be racing in 2025.”
