He’s a funny dude, hard to read: Michael Andretti on Gene Haas
As reported by The Race, the American mentioned that despite making his bid, Gene was not interested in selling the sole American f1 team on the grid.
Haas might soon be running into some financial trouble as they are currently struggling to keep their relationship with Uralkali. In light of this, when asked if he would extend another bud towards Haas, Andretti said, “We’ll see. I’m going to put it out there: if he wants us to call him, we’ll call him. He’s got my number, he’s a funny dude, hard to read. He could get sick of it, I don’t know.”
It has been reported that Michael might launch the Andretti F1 team in 2024.
Amid this, Mercedes team boss, Toto Wolff has also shared his thoughts on a new team entering. He said, “every team that is joining needs to add value. Needs to demonstrate in my opinion what it can do for all the other teams and for Formula 1 and the FIA. Only then the sport will grow.”

Not happy with Wolff’s statement, the son of the former world champion said, “We feel like we’re going to bring a lot more to the party in terms of income to the bottom line. I believe what we could do for the US, it’s still very untapped and I think there’s a lot to be gained here.
He also added, “And I think having a true American team and driver, not a Russian driver, we can at least bring more than $100m to the bottom line, which is all we’d ever take out of the prize money.”
It would be fascinating to see if Andretti launches his own team or buys the existing Haas F1 team. In any manner, it is correct to assume that the legendary name will a comeback to the sport soon.
