The seven-time Formula 1 champion, Michael Schumacher, has been absent from the F1 paddock and the general public ever since the horrific accident that happened on December 29, 2013, only a few days before his 44th birthday. The German driver was put into a medically induced coma after hitting his head on a rock while skiing in the French Alps. Since then, Schumacher’s health has only been disclosed to only a handful of people due to his family’s standard silence on the subject.

There have been several discussions on the potential impact the icon could have had if he had remained in the F1 paddock; it might not have been anything less than an “absolute miracle.” Amidst that, a close companion and former manager of Schumacher continue to hope that this elusive dream may come true. During a London Luxury Afloat, Eddie Jordan has been making some statements that would cause a few people teary-eyed.

The former manager asserts that he believes medical understanding has increased significantly compared to a decade ago and the 75-year-old is hopeful that Schumacher’s current treatment will be effective and that his wish to see Schumacher return will come true. He said, “It would also be a dream. Still, you have to be realistic, because there are people in science and medicine who do the most incredible things.”

Jordon still has faith that the Ferrari legend will get better. However, he is equally aware that it might not happen. “He added Medicine is making progress. I can’t tell you what the answer is for Michael Schumacher. From the point of view of someone whose knowledge of medicine is the knowledge of a normal human being, it’s hard to see. I sincerely hope that it is possible, and I think that as long as there is hope and faith in the world, anything is possible.”

When the German family’s representative Sabine Kehm informed the magazine that the Schumacher family will sue them, the magazine’s managing director Bianca Pohlmann publicly apologized. As reported by DW.com, the apology read, “This tasteless and misleading article should never have appeared. It does not in any way correspond to the standards of journalism that we – and our readers – expect from a publisher like Funke.” Additionally, the magazine fired Anne Hoffmann, its chief editor.
