Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari has been one of the most discussed matters in recent F1 news. At the start of the current season, the Briton declared he would be severing his 12-year-long bond with Mercedes. At the age of 39, while most pundits claimed the seven-time World Champion would retire soon, he shocked everyone with his surprise team switch.

Ferrari’s deal with Lewis Hamilton came into the spotlight only when the two parties announced it themselves. Before that, every source remained tight-lipped, and there was not a single rumor indicating this massive incident. Interestingly, just like the fans were kept in the dark, so was Lewis’ boss at Mercedes-Toto Wolff. And being taken aback by the news of losing his star recruit, he apparently hatched a plan to serve the Stevenage native with a “death sentence,”  as alleged by an insider who works with the Silver Arrows.

Ever since Lewis Hamilton announced his departure from Toto Wolff‘s team, speculations have arisen regarding his treatment there. In his last season with the Silver Arrows, some wild claims have mentioned that the team boss is trying to sabotage Lewis’ results. And testifying to these rumors, an anonymous email has arrived in the inboxes of various people in the F1 community.

FormulaPassion.it quoted the text in the email, “Some of us in the team are unhappy with the systematic sabotage of Lewis and his car, his tire strategy, race tactics and the related repercussions on his mental health. Ask the questions and the truth will come out. With the exception of Bono [Peter Bonnington, Hamilton’s race engineer] and those who love Lewis, everyone else is on a dangerous path that could be life-threatening for Lewis, the other drivers and even the public. The strategy of fitting him with cold tires is a death sentence.

The email has also claimed Lewis Hamilton is ignorant of all the ‘sneaky things’ going on in his team behind his back. This perhaps follows the public announcement that Lewis made when he denied the rumors of Mercedes sabotaging his results and called for support for his current team.

Hamilton wants to bash all negativity against Mercedes

Despite his contributions towards the Silver Arrows becoming a front runner in Formula 1, the distance is believed to have grown between Lewis and his employers due to his sudden decision to join Ferrari. As he is currently serving his last season with the team, speculations claim Mercedes is sabotaging his races and favoring its other recruit George Russell.

Speaking on these rumors, Hamilton said, “If you look at the years, we’ve always been a strong team; we’ve always worked really hard together. I think we need support, not negativity.” The current Silver Arrows racer also blamed his own mistakes for his failure to score a single race win since 2021, and he called for his fans to avoid bashing George Russell too.
