The season of livery unveiling is upon us, and it was Red Bull’s turn on February 3, 2023, to unveil their 2023 challenger, RB19. Unlike other teams, such as Mercedes, there was little hype or expectation surrounding the Milton Keynes-based team. And certainly, there was a disappointment from the lack of surprise all around as the team went ahead with its traditional colors as usual. So, in short, there was nothing new in the design department. However, tides turned around once Red Bull made an announcement of one of its kind.

The team announced a fan competition called “Make Your Mark,” in which the team’s panel will select a livery based on fan submissions for the three US races: Miami, Las Vegas, and Texas. The competition was well received by the fans’ hearts and was thus an immediate hit.

RacingNews365 quoted Red Bull boss Christian Horner saying, “It’s going to be a competition, it’s a huge opportunity and we’ve thought long and hard about it. We know it’s what people want to see and this is your chance to be able to do that.”

The competition got fans working on their canvases immediately as they came up with hilarious designs that either took a dig at Red Bull’s overspending episode and their competitors’ shenanigans.

All the designs were hilarious and worthy of being put on the RB19, as they brought a fan touch to what is otherwise a very rigid and serious sport.

Strange liveries were a common theme with the team. Remember the Star Wars livery for Monaco? Sadly, we have not seen any recently. Thus, the fresh designs will certainly put some creative energy into the garages and make the sport and team more connected with the fans.
