Yet, a standout development is the resurgence of the young and remarkable talent, Lando Norris. His impressive displays with the upgraded MCL60 have garnered widespread attention. While he strives to challenge Max Verstappen on the track, intriguing twists have come to light. An ex-teammate of Lewis Hamilton, who also boasts McLaren experience, provides the 23-year-old with candid advice that is to take on Max Verstappen directly. It seems like the racing world is currently abuzz with a fierce rivalry between two camps: Red Bull and Mercedes. Where on one side the Milton Keynes team appears to be on the fast track to dominance, Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes team on the other side have been responding with

ungracious comments and attempts to downplay Red Bull’s newfound superiority. However, the Austrian outfit hasn’t shied away from giving their own responses, and in their pursuit of ongoing dominance, Red Bull has made multiple unsuccessful attempts to lure Lando Norris, but he stood firm. And, to elevate the Bristol native’s success further, former F1 champion Jenson Button has been offering Norris some unfiltered advice.

Amidst the intense battle, Lando Norris receives unfiltered advice to stay ahead

Lando Norris, currently in 8th place in the driver’s championship with 79 points, has shown great promise in Formula 1. However, despite his potential, he’s only managed to secure 8 podium finishes in his 5-year F1 career and is still in search of his first win. Despite tempting offers from top teams, the young British driver has remained loyal to McLaren.

Nevertheless, over the years, many have touted Norris as a future world champion, leading to an influx of valuable advice. Now, Jenson Button, known for his straightforward approach, steps in with unfiltered advice. The Brit, amidst the ongoing Hamilton vs. Verstappen debate, said, “It’s not an easy decision for him. He’s not in a car that can win right now, and it probably won’t next year either. Yeah, he’s got to be looking elsewhere for 2025, or he puts his trust in McLaren.” 

However, with McLaren’s recent improvements, Button suggests that leaving the team now might not be a wise move for Norris as he adds, ” You know they’ve won races, they’ve won championships, and it can come back around. So as long as he can see the future and think that they’re in a good place as a team, and it gives him confidence, stay there. If not, go and fight Max Verstappen in his own team, but that’s a hard one.

While Jenson Button’s advice is valuable for Norris, the ongoing question in the Hamilton vs. Verstappen rivalry still persists which is who between these two drivers is the one that fellow racers would “fear” on the circuit?

Jenson Button picks sides in Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s showdown!

Former world champion Jenson Button, who raced alongside Lewis Hamilton from 2010 to 2012, is a respected figure in Formula 1. The Mercedes ace himself has acknowledged Button as a strong teammate while downplaying Max Verstappen’s current dominance, suggesting he’s [Hamilton] faced tougher competition in the past. However, in a conversation with SkysportsF1, Button initially aligned with Hamilton’s perspective of having faced formidable rivals. But later, he introduced a twist to the narrative by expressing a personal preference.

Button stated that if given the choice to partner with either Verstappen or Hamilton, he would opt for Hamilton. His reason? Max Verstappen’s racing prowess instills a sense of fear in him. As per Mirror, the Brit said, ” For me, I would be more fearful of going up against Max in the same car. I think it’s because the car is designed around his style, or that he can drive a car that Adrian Newey gives him.” While wrapping up his statement, he said, “ I think Lewis has had more difficult teammates, but I also wouldn’t want to go up against Max.”
