Last month there was noise around Charles Leclerc having talks with Mercedes about a possible contract. The Monegasque put the rumors to bed by suggesting that he still dreams of winning a title in a red suit with a red car. Now there are rumors about the unrest back at Maranello as Ferrari’s struggles continue. This time around Carlos Sainz has come out as he reveals the actual image silencing the noise around the unrest.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz signed with Ferrari with the hopes of winning a title. However, Ferrari is nowhere close to challenging for the title this year. Last year when they had a chance, the strategy and reliability issue blew away the hopes. As a result, rumors of unrest at Ferrari have been raised. Charles Leclerc recently explained how Frederic Vassuer was only observing and analyzing the things at Ferrari to make the best possible changes in the near future. 

However, Carlos Sainz recently spoke with The Race about the 2023 Ferrari struggles and how Red Bull has done an excellent job. Talking about his immediate future, Sainz resonated with Charles Leclerc’s comments as he suggested that nothing would make him happier than winning a championship with Ferrari. The Spaniard sees his immediate future at Maranello. He adds how challenging for the title with Ferrari motivates him and reveals the real picture of what’s going on back at Maranello.

According to the-race.com, Carlos Sainz said, “My immediate future, I only see it with Ferrari and wanting to be successful with this team. There’s nothing that would make me happier than winning again with Ferrari, than mounting a title challenge with Ferrari. If you win it or not, it’s a championship fight. You can come out on top or not. But mounting that challenge is short- and medium-term what really motivates me.”

“I feel really at home with the team. There’s a good atmosphere. I know there’s a lot of noise around, but I see the factory myself, and everyone in a good place right now.”

The Spaniard added how he feels at home with the team and the people at Ferrari. He explains how there are rumors of Ferrari’s culture and politics being somewhat toxic, but the reality is different as everyone is happy and in a good place. However, despite the positive atmosphere, Ferrari still is nowhere near the Red Bull. Charles Leclerc suggested that Ferrari has met its expectations. However, Red Bull is in a different league altogether.

Red Bull built a rocketship of an RB19 as Ferrari was left behind to find the answers. While the Ferrari looks close to the Red Bull on one lap pace, the race pace is nowhere near. Charles Leclerc underplayed Ferrari’s performance deficit as he explained how the team matched the expectations that they had set. Unfortunately, Red Bull set expectations much higher and was able to achieve the performance nobody could’ve even thought about. 

According to SoyMotor.com. Charles Leclerc said, “Honestly, the car is doing exactly what we expected it to do, so it is not that we have done a bad job or have not reached our expectations. However, unfortunately, Red Bull has taken a step twice as big compared to us, so I think it’s more where we set the goals than anything else.”
