Amid F1 Uncertainty, New Doors Open for Daniel Ricciardo as the Australian Showcases His Talents Behind the Wheel During the Summer Break

Recent weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions for Daniel Ricciardo. Despite a valid contract for the 2023 season, McLaren ousted Ricciardo and plans to replace him. The experienced Australian will be replaced with a rookie at the end of the current season. McLaren informed Ricciardo of their decision right after the Hungarian GP, right before the summer break.

Ricciardo went into the summer break without a seat for the 2023 season. However, the Australian is not letting the string of poor results leading to the McLaren replacement break his spirit. He is enjoying his summer break and is putting up an unbothered front despite the uncertainty.

A great example of that would be his recent car karaoke – caraoke if you will – video on his Instagram. The Australian is singing along to a song called 3 AM by Matchbox Twenty. Ricciardo shared the passionate caraoke on his Instagram with the caption, “A classic. A bit of a heart melter. It’s 3 am.”

The video Ricciardo posted did not go unnoticed, especially by the band itself. Matchbox Twenty, the rock band, posted Ricciardo’s caraoke video on their official Twitter account with an interesting caption. The caption read, “If you’re ever looking for a side gig outside of @F1 let us know @danielricciardo!”

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Ricciardo’s future. However, he is not completely out of options even outside the world of F1. Even if a singing career with Matchbox Twenty doesn’t work out, Ricciardo still has plenty of career paths to choose from.

Daniel Ricciardo might not have a seat, but Matchbox Twenty has already given him an alternate career opportunity. However, a singing career is not the only option.

The Australian is spoiled with choices. Ricciardo has been active on the entrepreneurial front in the past few years. Firstly, the wine collaboration with St.Hugo. Ricciardo also has a clothing brand called RIC3.
