Before the Canadian Grand Prix, Sky Sports spotted someone special in the world of motorsports: Mary McGee. She was at the paddocks, and Sky Sports approached her to ask her who she was supporting in the race. To this, she replied, “Mr. Hamilton.” Lewis Hamilton finished P4 at the Canadian Grand Prix, and George Russel finished right ahead of him, which is the season best for Mercedes so far.

Having McGee, the first lady to ever compete in motorcycle road racing and motocross events in the USA, support Lewis Hamilton is an honor, and the Mercedes driver did it justice by showing that he is still in contingency to finish on the podium and maybe even win races. The Canadian Grand Prix was eventful as ever, especially with the rains pouring down at the beginning of the race. Mercedes had George Russel on Pole, and Lewis Hamilton started P7.

Hamilton quickly overtook Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, and Oscar Piastri while fighting with his teammate during the last few laps before the checkered flag. McGee had faith that Hamilton would perform this race and what a day it was for LH44 fans. Although George Russell finished on the podium, he lost the race from pole to Max Verstappen. It was a close battle through and through, and it was almost impossible to figure out who would win the Grand Prix. The team walked in with an upgrade and it looks like it worked out.

What upgrades did Mercedes do to the W15?

Crash.net reported the upgrades that Mercedes brought to the Canadian Grand Prix. There were many areas in which they made changes, including the front suspension, flow conditioning, and the realignment of the track rod. The team also lowered the wishbone forward leg and realigned both the track rod. Mercedes realized it was the front wing that would need to be changed. Before the race, Toto Wolff spoke to the media and announced the changes that he will be making.

He explained the situation that the team is in and said, “We are certainly hoping to build on the momentum that we have had recently, closing that gap to the front.” Less is more is what Mercedes believed in as Wolff stated, “We have got some smaller updates. We are certainly going to have front wing two on both cars. That is something that we have been working on and we will make sure we can deliver that.” The W15 is a much faster car now and both the drivers look more confident in it. That being said, we might just get to see a Mercedes race win this year.
