Lewis Hamilton was a young boy from Stevenage. His origin and background made him an outlier. That’s a lesson he had learned early on in his life – I am different.

Hamilton battled through. His career started with RC car racing and he won there. Graduating on to karting, he continued winning. He brought his winning mentality with him to the Formula circuits, absolutely crushing rivals in all the competitions he took part in.

His entry into F1 was par excellence too. The Briton started his career with McLaren in 2007 and announced his arrival in the grandest of fashions. While the season was won by Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari, Hamilton was not far behind the champion. Kimi won the title with 110 points; Lewis was tied with Fernando Alonso at 109 points. Just a point separated him; just a point stopped him from winning the world title in his first season.

Fast forward to today and that young boy has won 7 world titles. Despite all the success, he makes sure he can take out time for his fans, especially the younger ones. Only recently, he invited a few children to the Mercedes paddock and spent time with them.
