The traditional pre-race press conference ahead of the Italian Grand Prix took place yesterday. The final driver pairing saw last year’s race winner Pierre Gasly address the media alongside defending world champion Lewis Hamilton.
During their press conference, they answered questions ranging from their current form to their outlook towards 2022. Following an answer given by Gasly about his stunning victory in Monza last year, Hamilton revealed video games are a common factor between the pair.

A journalist asked Gasly about how the night went after he won a chaotic Italian Grand Prix last year. In his answer, the Frenchman mentioned how he received a surprise from a close friend, who arrived in Milan around midnight.
Hamilton took this opportunity to reveal he plays video games with Gasly late in the night. He said, “We game at night also, we game a lot online!”
Gasly then replied, “But usually not the Sunday night!” Following this, Hamilton replied he finds it extremely difficult to play video games after racing on Sunday. “Sunday night, five minutes and I have such a headache. I can’t even look at the screen so, always getting killed!”

Although Hamilton re-signed with Mercedes at the Austrian Grand Prix, the Silver Arrows revealed George Russell as his teammate next season just a few days ago. This ended months of speculation, with the 36-year-old congratulating his future teammate on social media.
With the championship leaders separated by just three points, Hamilton will look to move back to the top this weekend. However, that task is easier said than done, given Max Verstappen‘s confidence in an extremely quick Red Bull car.
