People often wonder what the lives of F1 superstars would be like. Of course, during the season, their lives are incredibly busy. They have to travel to different countries almost every week, not to mention the different sponsor commitments they might have during the season as well.

Considering they drive at speeds of more than 300kmph and withstand G-forces upwards of 5G, it’s easy to forget that they, too, are human beings just like us. With the 2023 season having come to a close and the winter break in full swing, they take the time away to refresh and turn to social media to unwind. Esteban Ocon‘s recent activity is the perfect example of this.

During the off-season, most drivers turn back to their favorite things to do when they get the time. While drivers like Lando Norris and Max Verstappen are indulging in Twitch streams to keep themselves and their fans entertained, Esteban Ocon has chosen to spend a lot of his time scrolling through social media.

The Alpine driver, as a matter of fact, is spending a lot of time on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. And yes, that is a fact, one that Ocon himself attested to. He took to Threads to reveal this to his fans. He humorously took a dig at Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta (the parent company of the aforementioned platforms), in this recent thread. “@zuck, I blame you for my increase in screen time.” And we can add WhatsApp to that list as well because Ocon is quite active on that as well. At least, that’s what we could make of his revelation about Ryan Reynolds.

In the early part of the 2023 season, Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds (popularly known for playing Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) bought a 24% stake in Alpine with an investor group. Ocon, a dedicated MCU fan, took the opportunity to connect with Reynolds and revealed an offer the actor made him. He said, “I was extremely lucky to be able to chat with Ryan. We exchanged a couple of WhatsApps together. He told me I was invited onto the set for the Deadpool movie in London, so I’m definitely going.”

Naturally, Esteban Ocon must also be spending some time training for next season and making sponsorship appearances as well. Despite being on a break, working never stops for the F1 drivers. That being said, Ocon is not the only driver spending a lot of their time in front of a screen this year. Lando Norris also spent a significant amount of time streaming on Twitch. But now, he’s dropped a huge bombshell on his fans.

Lando Norris’ Streaming U-Turn

The British superstar is known for appearing on streams and playing some fun games with his friends. Recently, he booted his stream up, caught up with friends, and played some Fortnite online. His insanely successful stream pulled in a lot of fans, even more than the Brazilian soccer star Neymar, who was streaming at the same time. However, despite this success, the British star announced that he is calling it quits on streaming.

Needless to say, this was followed by a lot of disappointment amongst the fans. However, Norris confirmed that it was just a joke, even urging fans to clip the part where he fake-cried and post it on social media to shock fans who missed the stream.
