David Coulthard recently advised on most of the F1 grid being friends and hanging out together. Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly are two of the very best friends. However, the two fell on very different spectrums of performance and expectations at the Dutch GP. Regardless, Charles Leclerc extended an olive branch to Pierre Gasly with a 4-word heartfelt message, despite having a fiery duel earlier. What is the heartfelt message?

Earlier this week, Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly collaborated with the YouTuber SQUEEZIE for a video. The two F1 drivers, along with the YouTuber, took part in a game. Three people would come in and justify their profession and Leclerc, Gasly, and SQUEEZIE had to find the imposter who was lying. The video was filled with banter. When Leclerc was asked if he had any strategy, he replied, “Yes, I have my strategy.” Gasly cut him off and said, “You and strategies…” Leclerc didn’t have a comeback and said, “Don’t start with your jokes, please.”

The Dutch GP will be the one that Charles Leclerc would like to forget. Leclerc, after a troublesome Q1 where he almost got eliminated, crashed during the Q3 to bring out red flags. The race wasn’t great either as front wing damage followed by floor damage cost the Monegasque heaps of performance and ultimately the car was retired.

During the post-race interview, Charles Leclerc said, “Let’s say that the call in the first lap was right, even though we lost time because we weren’t ready. The call was mine. Overall, we gained more than we lost. Afterward, I had a small contact with Oscar, but that had a huge impact on the car. We lost over 60 points and there was nothing more to be done. I didn’t see well where we hit, but it was a very important part of the car and we lost a lot.”
