“Don’t Start… Please”: Pierre Gasly’s 3-Worded Insult at Ferrari Leaves Charles Leclerc Red-Faced

Death, taxes, and Ferrari‘s strategic errors are the three inevitables of life. Is this too harsh an assessment? Well, the Italian team on most occasions, especially during the 2022 season, were the cause of their own misery. Ferrari through their unreliability and strategic errors lost a massive number of points and was a big point of contention throughout the previous season. The Scuderia’s shoddy strategic calls became a nightmare for Charles Leclerc, thanks to the repetitive nature of it. Pierre Gasly proved this with his sly dig at Ferrari during a recent interview.

Gasly and Leclerc sat down with famous YouTuber SQUEEZIE for his latest video. In the course of the video, there is a test the two drivers are put to which requires them to strategize a little. When Leclerc showcases his confidence in his strategy for the test, the Alpine man brutally mocks his friend. Gasly took a dig at Ferrari leaving Leclerc red-faced during their conversation.

SQUEEZIE asked Leclerc, “Do you have a strategy yet?” Leclerc replied, “Yes, I have my strategy.” Gasly immediately touched a sour spot and said, “You and strategies..” A red-faced Charles could only beg as he said, “Don’t start with your jokes, please.”

The hilarious interaction showcases how evident Ferrari’s strategic fails have been, especially for Leclerc in recent history.

All jokes apart, these constant blunders during such highly consequential circumstances are the primary reason behind Leclerc’s frustrations. In fact, experts believe this is exactly what is holding Leclerc back from attaining the heights he is very well capable of.

F1 veteran believes Ferrari’s errors are holding Charles Leclerc back from the promise land

Ever since his debut, Leclerc has showcased a championship-winning pedigree. However, the Monegasque has never gotten close to the promise land. He has won races and secured many pole positions but never enough in a row to mouth a real championship challenge. According to Peter Windsor, this is exactly why Leclerc is staying away from strategy discussions. These strategic failures are the reason why he is not touching the heights he should be.

Windsor emphasized, “I think Charles needs really good driver management he needs somebody a to give him confidence and B to keep all the Clutter out of his you know there’s a lot of you know you want to listen to the signals but not the noise and that’s what I think there’s too much noise at Ferrari in general but I think Charles had so much of it that it’s probably getting on top of him on an in an endlessly annoying way.”

These errors were on display during 2022 and there have been some instances in 2023 as well. Moving forward, Ferrari needs to completely eradicate these errors to get a sniff of the championship.
