Alpine F1 driver Fernando Alonso took to social media recently to announce that he has started with the training schedule for the 2022 season. The Spaniard was recovering from the latest jaw surgery he had following his bicycle accident in February 2021. After an incredibly fierce 2021 season, Alonso revealed that his priority before the next season was to have the titanium plates removed from his jaw.

The Spaniard underwent the operation in Bern, Switzerland. The 40-year-old Alpine driver could leave the hospital after two days. Because of this surgery, Alonso had to bow out of 24 hours Le Mans virtual this season. Two-time Le Mans winner Alonso did not have the driving role, but he was following the race closely.

In an interview reported by PlanetF1, the Spaniard mentioned he has been in the hospital for a while for recuperation. “I had an operation last week and was in hospital for a while. Now I am recovering from the operation.” However, after nearly two weeks of rest since his operation, Alonso has entered beast mode again.
