AlphaTauri F1 Boss Delivers a Harsh Verdict on Their 2021 Season Amid Alpine & Aston Martin Competition

In the pre-season testing, AlphaTauri looked fast and looked like they might compete with McLaren for third in the championship run. Unfortunately, what looked like an explosive bomb at the beginning of the season just ended up fizzling out without a bang.

AlphaTauri must get everything right to finish fifth stated team boss

The Red Bull sister team, AlphaTauri, is currently involved in a fight for fifth in the constructors’ championship with Alpine and Aston Martin. Although the Italian team has been more competitive than its competitors, they are lagging behind in terms of results.

The best finish for the team has been Gasly‘s P3 in Baku while Alpine has a win and Aston Martin, a P2 standing. Tost also acknowledged that the results have not gone their way recently, especially when compared to their rivals.

“The last three races, I wasn’t happy because we only scored four points. Of course, that wasn’t enough. It’s a tough fight. We have very strong teams close to us in the form of Aston Martin and Alpine. We have to get everything right to finish in fifth place,” said Tost.

As the season progresses, AlphaTauri’s gap to Aston Martin and Alpine just seems to be increasing. While the other two are improving quite rapidly, that doesn’t seem to be the case for the Italian team.
