Despite still being the bottom team in the standings, Williams has turned out to be an exciting competitor in 2023. The British team’s car is among the best in straight-line speeds on the grid. Had it not been for their reliability issues, unlucky crashes, and slow cornering speeds, the team could have posed a threat at least to the midfield teams. As they continue to build excitement about their project, the Grove-based team teased an announcement with their major sponsor. Needless to say, fans once again failed to hold their horses and came up with some wild theories.

Keeping in mind F1’s booming popularity in America, Williams brought in F2 sensation Logan Sargeant in its driver lineup for the 2023 season. The Floridian has had a hot and cold season until now after the conclusion of 5 races. But being a rookie, he will naturally take some time to adapt to the championship and fans are backing him for it.

Williams recently took to Twitter to tease fans for upcoming news that will feature their collaboration with Gulf Oil. The only other hint they gave was the date of the 26th of May and 12 PM UK time. That would make it 7 AM EST in America.

Gulf Oil has associated itself with motorsports since 1936. They entered F1 through McLaren back in 1968. The partnership lasted for 5 years and was revived in 2020. Last year, McLaren even sported a Gulf Oil vintage livery in Monaco. Now, given that the entire F1 fandom is eagerly waiting for the Monaco GP to arrive this weekend, it wouldn’t be ludicrous to think that Williams is going to do that as well.

Fans believe that to be the case as well. However, some others came up with wild theories.

Another fan predicted it would be a livery unveiling. However, given how sneaky F1 journalists are, warned them about it not remaining a secret for too long.

One fan urged them to release merch for fans with the same theme as the livery they are planning on unveiling.

Others predicted a change in the driver lineup. From the return of Nicholas Latifi to the signing of Mick Schumacher, all wild theories did the rounds.
